Plant Update

It hasn't even been a month since I planted my first plants and already they have come so far. A few of the plants have taken their sweet time in growing and yesterday I noticed that we have Anaheim pepper plants.
And the herbs I planted the weekend before last have sprouted.
They are mini plants.... so cute
Even the one that got knocked over by the landscapers has sprouted.... whew!
The larger plants are really starting to get bigger as well.... the package says 55 days till you can harvest cucumbers and green beans. So only about 30 more days hopefully.
I think soon we will need to introduce the posts for the vines to go up.

Then there's the one pot that just isn't growing yet. It really makes me sad although it still has a little time.

Welcome Spring

Well the warmer weather is here to stay and the frogs are officially serenading us each evening. The landscapers also came for the first time this season... and our yard and flower beds look much better.

So pretty in fact that I spent a lot of time enjoying our porch last Friday evening... luckily the mosquito's are not here yet so I was not eaten alive.
Looks like I'm in the middle of a jungle here... and this is after all the plants were trimmed.... you should have seen them before.
Scarlet was jealous she had to stay inside.... she's a runner.

HCFFRF Trap Shoot

This past weekend was HCFFRF's 2nd Annual Trap Shoot.
The weather behaved beautifully, not too hot, not too cold, and just enough sunshine.
Jim was in heaven.
There was a lot of watching... followed by sarcastic remarks.
And just plain standing around talking.
Did I mention standing around talking?
 The mighty grill masters
After all the shooting and food there were prizes for the top scores and low scores (they gave them a little something to improve their chances of winning next year).

We've Been Blogged About

Check out Island Creek Photography (formally David's Wedding Photography) who photographed our Wedding and Trash the Dress. I completely suggest Trashing the Dress it was so much fun and made for some great and original pictures of us.

Beautiful Sunrise

After I shared the beautiful sunset with you yesterday I felt it was only appropriate to share a beautiful sunrise.
This evening I was able to stop by the beach while waiting to complete an IFSP meeting. The family lives about 2 blocks from the beach (lucky them huh?).

Beautiful Sunset

Nothing exciting here today just thought I'd share a view from our "back yard" area at sunset. I love the weather right now. It is warm enough to go barefoot but still cool enough to wear jeans and a t shirt. I know it wont last long as hot and humid weather is quickly approaching (and won't subside until mid to late October).
But at least this summer the pool is also just a few steps away. And I plan on making the most of it as I only got to get in twice last year once it was completed in early October.

Wednesday Update

More plant growth. Makes me smile.
These are more than just sprouts now!

The ducks are making themselves right at home outside our door... and quacking for bread daily.
Last night the CCU Competition Cheerleaders had a showcase for friends and family before they leave for Nationals in Daytona today. They did a great job. One cheerleader made Jim a birthday cookie cake (yumm).

Katie who made Jim's amazing cookie cake.
Go Chants! Good Luck at Nationals!

How to Follow

Some of you were asking how you can follow the blog....
1) Go to the right side of the blog page where you see "Followers", click on the white button with the colorful google symbol on the left.
 2) It will ask you to sign in using an account you already have. So if you have a google, twitter, yahoo, or even an AIM account (do people still use AIM?).
 4) You will then be directed to what looks like your usual log in screen. Enter your e-mail or user id and password (don't worry it doesn't share that info).
5) Once you have signed in you will see this screen with your name and possibly icon picture. There you choose to Follow Publicly or Follow Privately (read the little descriptions under them to decide what is best for you, If you follow publicly you will be added to my Follower count on the right side of the blog). Then Click the white "Follow this blog" button on the bottom left of that box.

6)Yeay! You are then an official Follower of our blog!
Let me know if you need more help.

Another Lazy Sunday

Yesterday brought back our beautiful weather again. Jim and I used this opportunity to get outside and enjoy the sunlight.

We ate an early dinner at one of our favorite pizza places.
Then we headed to the beach.
To one of our favorite places.... do you recognize it?
 The Breakers.
Looks a little different than it did on our wedding day.
They installed a hand rail on the pathway.... a bit late for our guests although it isn't quite as pretty of a walk in picture with the metal rail in the middle.

We were really at the beach for one reason. Jim to fly his kite.

 Jim was quite happy.
The kite quickly soared higher and higher.

Until the 500 feet of string was all reeled out.
And the kite was just a tiny dot in the sky (the black speck at the center of the picture).
I stood at the edge of the water.
Less than 3 months till my family will be here to visit. The water was tolerable and felt comparably warm to the cool windy air.
The only thing about having amazing wind in which to fly a kite.... the kite does not want to come back down. Reeling in 500 feet of string proved to be harder than I thought it would be.
